Rita M. Kaufmann

Junior Associate 

Rita specializes in public international law and investment and commercial arbitration. She started her career in The Bahamas diplomatic service where she was engaged in International Human Rights Law and sat on The Bahamas National Committee for Trafficking in Persons. Later, specialized as an International Trade Advisor, she established and led a Trade Agreement Implementation Unit, negotiated agreements bilaterally and multilaterally, and trained extensively with the WTO in International Trade Policy and Law.

During her legal studies, Rita interned at UNCITRAL focusing on ISDS Reform (Working Group III). Also, she gained extensive experience in corporate communications and business development from supporting a leading regional law firm in CEE/SEE.

Before joining AKG ADVISORY, Rita was an International Trade Advisor to The Bahamas government and then transitioned into her legal career via UNCITRAL.
